Don’t panic. There is a good chance we can still save your tooth, even if the tooth has been knocked out — but you have to act fast.

If your tooth is chipped or broken:

If possible, find the missing part

Immediately store the tooth part in milk or salty water

 3

If your tooth is knocked out:

With clean hands, pick up the tooth at the white end — avoid touching the root

 2 

If the tooth is dirty, briefly rinse the tooth with cold tap water

 3 

If possible, put the tooth back in its place in the mouth, hold it there with a clean cloth

Alternatively, store it in milk or salty water, or in the mouth between the check and back teeth
